In this privacy policy, I seek to explain to you in the clearest way possible what information I collect, how I use it and what rights you have in relation to it. This privacy policy applies to all information collected through my website (such as https://www.jemmaslaterphotography.com), and/or any related services, sales, marketing or events (I refer to them collectively in this privacy policy as the “Services”).

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

I collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to me when registering at the Services expressing an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and services, when participating in activities on the Services or otherwise contacting me.

Publicly Available Personal Information. I collect first name, maiden name, last name, and nickname; current and former address; phone numbers; email addresses; family member names and their related information; social media; and other similar data. 

Personal Information Provided by You. I collect financial information (credit card number, purchase history, invoices); and other similar data.

Payment Data. I collect data necessary to process your payment if you make purchases, such as your payment instrument number (such as a credit card number), and the security code associated with your payment instrument. All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the blog part of my site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

This information may be used to, among other things, analyze and track data, determine the popularity of certain content and better understand online activity.   • Third-Party Advertisers. We may use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit the Services. These companies may use information about your visits to our Website(s) and other websites that are contained in web cookies and other tracking technologies in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. 
  • The only exception to the privacy of your personal details is that JEMMA SLATER PHOTOGRAPHY must comply with the NHS Test & Trace Service.  In the event that your photographer develops Coronavirus Symptoms and subsequently tests positive for COVID-19 and you have recently attended the studio for your portrait session, your name, address, telephone number and email address will be passed to the NHS Test & Trace service immediately.  If you want to know more about the Test & Trace service you can find out more here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-test-and-trace-how-it-works

How long we retain your data

In Short:  We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting or other legal requirements). No purpose in this policy will require us keeping your personal information for longer than 2 years past the termination of the user’s account.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize it, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Do we collect information from minors?

In Short:  We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. In Short:  We aim to protect your personal information through a system of organizational and technical security measures.

We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk.
